A vote of Want of Confidenoe having been brought on and disposed of, ho expected all the business would be proceeded with. Mr Lundon moved for £40,000 to bo placed on supplementary estimates for roads and bridges north of Auckland. He offered to help the Government to cut down estimates to save that amount, if they said they had no money. Mr Oliver said to adopt such a motion would only load to a crop of similar motions from all parts of the colony. It was impossible to comply with such a request. Hon. members might rest assured that justice would bo done alike to eacii district. After a good deal of discussion, Mr Lundon withdrew his motion. Mr Moss moved that foreign vessels arriving in New Zealand ports should not be allowed to engage in the coasting trade, .and that the Coasting Trade Regulations Act be amended accordingly. Government opposed the motion, which' was negatived. The House then wont into Committee of Supply.
