Sir. —.Will yon kindly allow another deferred payment selector to ask “ Ignoramus ” a few questions through the Patea Mail- Ist. What are the names of the deferred selectors suffering under the great injustice of Messrs' Gane.'not, .
rmyimr t’ui'r thir' l instalment until i.be 'first of January next. 2nd. On what date did tin*. Kawoni Road Board agree to expend Messrs Gann’s instalment on the Allan Road? 3rd. Did not Moss Ta Allan and West‘agree to do about £4u worth of work on the Allan Road, and wait until the Board was in funds to repay them out of deferred,, payment moneys? 4th. Did not Mr Illstonagree to advance about the same amount ou the upper Ingahape Road, and Messrs Gano £95 ou the lower Ingahape Road (besides labour advanced'with men, horse and dray, filling approaches to bridge, and side cuttings, so as to allow the Settlers to clear out from the Maoris), and over £2O on the Otoki Road on the same conditions ? sth. Did not the whole of the deferred selectors, with the exception of Messrs Gr.uO receive permission from the Waste Lands Board not to comply with the conditions of sale—viz., not to reside on their respective ‘sections for a period of eighteen months ? 6th- State names of deferred selectors entitled to the “ public funds ” Gane’s instalment ? 7th. Didmot Messrs Allan, Giles, and West, the deferred selectors abutting on the -Allan Road, purchase their lands at the respective sums of 80s, 80s, and 80s per acre (I am not quit* certain that Mr Allan did not pay 31s per acre), and Messrs Gone and Pearce from £l3 2s 6d to £l4 2s fid per acre? Bth. Did Messrs Allan, West, and Giles deceive themselves by thinking that MessrsGnne and Pearce’s instalment is to be expended on the Al'an Road for the special benefit of -Allan, West, and -Giles ? If such was to bo the case, it would be an “ eyeopener” with a vengence to the £l4 per acre mem 9th. What clause of the Land Act guarantees to make a road with money paid by one selector for the special benefit of another selector’s land ? 10th. Is it a crime in the eyes of “ Ignoramus ” for any member of the community, whether he be a Councillor, Commissioner, or member of the House of Representatives, to earn his bread by the sweat of his brow? By answering the above questions in rotation, “ Ignoramus ” will oblige ; and allow me to subscribe myself ANOTHER DEFERRED PAYMENT SELECTOR.
