[We are at all times ready (ogive expression to every shade of opinion, but in no case do we hold ourselves responsible for the sentiments of our correspondents.] THE WANGANUI HERALD'S CARLYLE CORRESPONDENT. (To the Editor of the Patka Mail.) Sir, —A short time since jon afforded me space to deny the correctness of a report sent by the above- mentioned person. It seems that he cannot write ti fair report He has thought fit to publish what ho calls a report of certain matters that took place at Mr Sherwood’s meeting on the 4th instant, in the Town Hall, Carlyle, but any person who was present will bear me oat in saying that the report is incorrect. With reference to one of the statements the report said I made— that on one of the bolts of the oheqnp book the words “ Foreman of Works confidence, £10,” appeared—l may state that it is absolutely false, so I shall leave that to the Foreman of Works and the Wanganui Herald to fight out, —I am, &c., W. DALE.
