The following (says the N.Z. Times) is the export of wool front the principal New Zealand ports during the first nine months, ending 30th , June, of the wool seasons, 1878 and 1879 15<8. 1870. Lbs. Auckland ... 1,500,202 ... 1,616,752 Napier ... ... 6,493,206 ... 10,208,777 Wellington ... 11,288,160 ... 11,819,417 Lyttelton ... 16;564,40D ... 16,582,321 Dunedin 18.054,011 ... 17,047,173 Invercargill ... 4,810,175 ... 4,435.644 The total amount of wool exported from New Zealand during tho first nine mouths, ending 30th June, of the wool seasons from 1876 to 1879, is as follows : Lbs. 1876 55,247,040 • 1877 53,844.014 1878 , ... 50,272,087 1879 60,686,473 The increase during the last eight years has been from 35,936,651 lbs to 62,166,247 lbs, or 3,250,0001bs annually. This at Is a pound as the average price of the period shows the rabbit destruction to have been not less than £150,000 annually, but we suspect £300,000 annually for the last two years would not he too much to place to the debit of the rabbit pest.
