Maiden Plate of 40 sovs ; 1£ miles ; weight for age ; for horses that have never won an advertised race of the amount of 20 sovs at the time ef entry ; a winner of any such race after the time of entry to carry a penalty of 71bs ; of two or more such races, lOlbs ; entrance, 3 sovs. To start at 12.30 p.m. 4. Waverley-Waitotara Cup of 40 sovs ; two miles ; weight for age ; entrance, 8 sovs. To start at 130 p.m. 5. To start at 4.30 p.m. Nominations for Handicap Hurdles, Flying Handicap, and Waverley-Waitotara Handicap, to be in the hatfds of the Secretary before 8 p.m. on the 20th October ; weights to be declared on the 12th November, acceptances and general entries on the 20th November. Qualification fee for Non-members, £1 Is. RULES; No entf'y will be received for any races except upon this condition—that all disputes, claims, and objections arising out of the racing, shall be decided by a majority of the Stewards present, or those whom they may appoint. Their decision upon all points connected with the carrying out of this, programme shall be final. All entries to bo sealed, and addressed to the Hon Secretary, Waverley, entrance money enclosed, with the name, age at time of entry, pedigree, and in case of handicaps, performances of the horse, name of the owner, and colours of the rider. Any jockey riding except in the colours entered; will be fined 3 sovs. When two or more horses start, the property of the same owner,- a distinguishing colour must be worn. In all vvoigbt-for-age races, the weight-for-ago scale of the Wanganui Jockey Club rules will be adhered to. All persons intending to withdraw horses, are required to give notice to that effect to the Secretary, or Clerk of the Scales, one half-hour before starting; Any person neglecting or refusing to comply with this .xule, shall pay a fine of 5 sovs to the race fund. All entries should be made oil the Club’s printed forms of entry, winch may be obtained at the office of the Hon Secretary. All races to be under the W.J.C.
