CARLYLE VOLUNTEER FIRE BRIGADE.
A meeting ol the above was held at the Alliion Mold on Saturday evening last, for the purpose of adopting rules, electing officers, and general business. Twentyfive members were present. Mr G. Beamish in the chair. Minutes of last meeting read and confirmed, and several communications received. The Secretary read the rules that had been selected by the Committee, which were adopted. The election of officers then took place, and resulted as follows :—W. Dixon, Captain ; A. Chisholm, Lieutenant; G. Beamish, Foreman ; A. Haywood, Treasurer ; S. Dixon, Secretary. Messrs Taylor, Weight, and J. Whelan, were elected members of Standing Committee of the Brigade. Resolutions wove passed to procure a fire-bell and site, fire engine, badges, and other requisites for the Brigade; that the Bank of New South Wales be the Brigade bank; that the Committee canvass the town for honorary members and subscriptions. A short discussion on minor matters brought the meeting to a close, with a vote of thanks to the Chairman.
