Wanganui, August 13. My sale to-day passed off fairly considering the general dulncss of trade. Prices for store cattle were at rather lower values and some had to be turned out unsold. Beef was of medium quality’', and met a good market, there not being sufficient for the requirements of the trade. Sheep were also of inferior quality, with the exception of a few pens of wethers, prices showed an upward tendency, being in favor of the a.-dlers. The following are the quotations : Cattle.—Fat bullocks, £8 15s and £lO 2s 6d; cows, £7 7s 6d and £9 2s Gd; mixed stores, steers and heifers, £4 4s ; cows and calves, £5 2s Gd ; milch cows, up to £7 10s ; calves, £2 2s. Sheep.—729 were penned. Fat wethers, '9s 9d to 10s 3d ; ewes, 7s to 8s 6d ; store -ewes, 6s 9d. Pigs.—Good fat porkers, 21s to 28s. Horses—Some good unbroken horses Avere sold. Draught, £36 10s, £24 10s, £ls, and £lB ; hacks up to £2l 10s ; and screws from £3 to £5. Hay,—£3 10s per ton. Exports.—7o cattle, 300 sheep, and 90 pigs.
