WAVERLEY.

(From our own Correspondent.) A public meeting was called for last night, to discuss -the native difficulty; to urge on the Government the necessity of supplying the Volunteers with serviceable arms ; and to urge the pushing on of the railway. The matter being one of great importance, about half-a-dozen settlers, and double that number of small boys, were present. Mr Kenah was voted to the chair, which he consented to take reluctantly, saying that he was disgusted with the apathy shown by settlers. It was proposed that the meeting stand adjourned until Saturday next, at 4 p.m., which was carried unanimously, amidst prolonged cheering from the larrikins. I hope to see a good meeting re the Jockey Club on Friday evening next.
