KAKAIIAMEA*FLOUR MILLS. Flour in sacks and in bags. Pollard, 6s per 100 lbs ; bran, 4s per 90 lbs. EDWIN PAYNE. .Time 21, 1879. 270 MR FEEMAN R. JACKSON’S FORTNIGHTLY STOCK REPORT. Wanganui, June 18. Owing to the unsettled state of the Huwera district, the usual sale there had to be postponed. The sale to-day was a large one. A big draft of cattle from Mokoia filled the yards to overflowing. It was anticipated the result would show a falling off in values. At the commencement of the sale, it certainly looked as if such would be the case, but as it procoeded, prices were well maintained, and were nearly equal to those of the previous sale The general depression and tightness of money has also a tendency to lower prices. Taking this into consideration, the sale to-day must be considered a success. Sheep were at lower values. Those passed in at the auction, were all sold afterwards at the quotations below. Horses were in large supply, and met a dull market Cattle—334 head were yarded. Beef of good quality was rather dull of sale; it made about 22s 6d the 100 lbs ; best bullocks, £lO IDs: other pens, £ 3 7s 6d to £9 10s; fat cows, £7; steers. £5 10s; cows and calves, £7; store cows. £5 to £5 7s 6d; heifers, £5 to £5 5s ; yearlings, £3.
