[Reuter’s Telegrams.] MELBOURNE. June 5. The liabilities of the Australian and European Bank are estimated at £500,000, whilst the probable assets are expected to realise £600,000. June 6. At a meeting of Associated Banks yesterday-night, it was resolved to port the City of Melbourne Bank wira any assistance they may require. CAIRO. "June 4. The Kedive returned evasive answer to protest by the German Government against dismissal of his ministers. The German Consul, in reply, said he regretted deeply that the Kedive’s action was causing the Egyptian question to enter a new phase, involving seripus consequences.
