DENIAL.
(To the Editor of the Patea Mail.) Sib, —I notice by your report of a public meeting at Waverley, that a speaker states “That he has been informed on good authority that Mr Duthio, acting on the order of Mr Sheehan, had lately supplied Maoris with arms and ammunition to the amount of £300.” As there is no foundation in fact for such a statement, will you allow me space in your columns to say so. —I am, &Ci, JOHN DUTHIE. Wanganui, June 2, 1879.
