The volunteering of men for active service in Natal War has commenced. Preparations for despatch of troops are being pushed on at Chatham and Portsmouth. H.M. troopship Euphrates preparing for sea. Wool firm, and in active demand. BERLIN. May 21. German Govnrnment has decided to suspend sales of silver. MELBOURNE. May 22. Sailed—Arawata, with Suez mails. ADELAIDE. May 23. Wheat, 4s ; Flour, £l2. SYDNEY. May 23. Advices from New Guinea state that an attack had been made on the mission by a large number of hoslile iiativcs, in 118 canoes. Friendly natives pursued them and compelled them to retire. New Zealand oats, 2s lOd to 3s.
