COUNTY COUNCIL MEMBERS.
To the Editor of the Patea Mail. Sib,—There are some queer stories going about with reference to the conduct of two of the members for this Riding, which, if true, should result in Messrs McGuire and King sending in their resignations. The report in your last issue leads persons to suppose that something has taken place which does not reflect credit on certain members ; but you do not give particulars, which I think, for the information of the ratepayers, you should do.—l am, &c., RATEPAYER. Hawera, May 12th, 1879. [ln answer to the above, we may state that we went as far as prudence allowed us, but if “ Ratepayer” wishes to learn the whole particulars, the Minute Book of the County Council will no doubt be open to him or any others who seek information.—Ed. Mail.") o
