WAVERLEY.

(From our own Correspondent.) April 28. The adjourned meeting of the shareholders in the Town Hal! Company took place on Friday last, when the misunderstanding (to which “ Shareholder” takes exception) was discussed, and the following resolution was proposed by Mr Pookes, seconded by Mr Thurston, and carried, That in the opinion of this meeting, the resolution passed on Friday last, adopting the site offered by Mr Siccly, was carried under a misapprehension, many shareholders present having been under the impression that that Mr Ballam had withdrawn his offer ; and consider that the said resolution should be rescinded.” The advisability of taking stops to get the site in which the present Hall stands, was discussed; and Mr Sicely havingwithdrawn his site, loiters were read from Mrs Price and Mr Koertz, the former offering a site in Bear-street gratis, and the latter one on the same terms, near the Bank of Australasia. It was decided by show of hands that Mrs Price’s offer be accepted with thanks. I Have not hoard when operations are to be commenced, but I presume no unnecessary time will he lost. The meeting also accorded a vote of thanks to Messrs Sicely and Koertz, for their liberal offers of sites for the building. The remains of the unfortunate man who was killed by a fall of earth near Waitotara, were interred in the Cemetery here, on Saturday.
