(Per Press Agency.) WELLINGTON. April 4. Thirty armed constabulary from Taupb’ have arrived here, en route for Waimate’ Plains. James Mackay and Captain Blake were well received at Parihaka by Te Whiti, but the satisfactory settlement of the affair is somewhat difficult, owing to complications which surround the confiscated lands question, and both of them have gone to New Plymouth to obtain information regarding previous proceeding in connection with these confiscated lands. It is understood, however, that Government has received an almost positive assurance that the Maoris themselves will put the surveyors and instruments back on land where taken from. The Post has reason to believe there was a most cordial interview between the Governor and the Premier, on return of the latter from Auckland, and before Sir George Grey left Wellington, he indited a letter to Governor, 'expressing regret at being unable to welcome him personally.
