. Establishing a Toll Crate at Waitotara. IN pursuance of tlie power granted under “ The Public Works Act, 187G,” the County Council of Patea have resolved to establish a Toll on the North or Patea side ot the Waitotara Bridge. The following will be the scale of tolls payable, viz.; SECOND SCHEDULE. |s. d. 1. For every sheep or other head of small cattle ... ... ... 0 01 2. For every horse saddled or harnessed ... 0 3 3. For ever}' horse not in harness or head of great cattle ... ... 0 3 4. For every two-whecled vehicle with springs, drawn by one horse ... ... ... ••• 1 0 For every additional horse attached to such vehicle ... 0 G 3. For every two-wheeled vehicle without springs, drawn by one horse 1 0 And for any vehicle attached thereto 0 6 For every additional horse attached to such vehicle as aforesaid ... 0 6 <5. For every four-wheeled vehicle with springs, drawn by one horse .. ... ... ... 1 0 For every additional horse attached to such vehicle ... 0 G 7. For every four-wheeled vehicle without springs, drawn by one horse ... ... ... ... 1 0 For every additional horse attached to such vehicle ... 1 0 8. For every foal at foot, or calf O 3 This Schedule shall be read as if the words “ mare, gelding, ass, mule, bull, cow, or calf,” were inserted alter the word horse throughout. Provided that not more than one toll shall be taken on any vehicle or horse passing or returning on the same day : And provided further that in case of a vehicle without springs having the tires of all its wheels of a breadth of not less than five inches, the wheels being so formed that a surface of not less than five inches comes in contact with the ground on a firm cart road, the amount of tolls shall be onehalf the rate which would otherwise be charged under this Schedule.
