NEW CALEDONIA NEWS.

New Caledonia, Feb. 6. In Djamba Talley, 60 rebels were attacked by friendlies, many of whom were killed, and four taken prisoners. It has been ascertained from the prisoners that the insurgents through scarcity of provisions, are eating their own children. Having received information, thc'fnendlies killed their prisoners, cut off their noses,- and carried them to, the nearest military post. A sorcerer and another rebel were tried by military court-martial, and shot. At this fight one hundred and eighty rebels were surrounded, and not one escaped. Several rebels are still entrenched in rock fastnesses. At Netoton, near Poya, north of Bonrail, sixty more rebels surrendered. At Bourail the revolt dwindled down to a mere man chase.
