(Per Press Agency.) WELLINGTON. February 25. New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency report, under date London, 19th February :—Wool sales opened yesterday at level of last sales, and will comprise about 250,C00 bales ; 20,000 have been sent to the manufacturing districts direct. The opening catalogue contained 9,000 bales. Continental demand is good, but home trade is purchasing sparingly. Superior greasy is firmer. Crossbreds easier. Trade in manufacturing districts is unchanged. Sales close 17th March. A meeting of master printers, including Mr Didsbury, Government Printer, was held last night, at which a resolution was passed, “ That henceforward the Wsllington Typographical Society be no longer recognised, and that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Secretary of the society.” Compositors have been engaged by the Wellington newspaper proprietors, and are now on their way from various parts of the colony, so that in the event of the printers holding out against masters, no great inconvenience will be experienced, and the papers will be published as usual.
