IN pursuance of the power granted under “ The Public Works Act, 1876,” the County Council of Patea have resolved to establish a Toll on the Noith or Patea side of the Waitotara Bridge. The following will be the scale of tolls payable, viz.: SECOND SCHEDULE. s. d. L For every sheep or other head of email cattle 0 0£ 2. For every horse saddled or harnessed 0 6 3. For every horse not in harness or head of great cattle ... ....0 3 4. For every two-wheeled vehicle with springs, drawn by one horst 1 0 For every additional horse attached to such vehicle ... 0 6 5. For every'‘two-wheeled vehicle without springs, drawn by one horse ... 1 0 And for any vehicle attached thereto ... ... ... ... 0 6 For every additional horso attached to such vehicle as aforesaid 0 6 6. For every four-wheeled vehicle with springs, drawn by one horse .. ... 1 0 For every additional horse attached to such vehicle ... 0 t> 7. For every four-wheeled vehicle without springs, drawn by one horso ... ... ... ... 1 0 For every additional horse attached to such vehicle ... 1 0 8. For every vehicle propelled along a road by steam or other like power ... ... ... 5 0 9. For every bullock dray drawn by two bullocks ... ... 1 0 For every additional pair of bullocks attached to such vehicle 1 0 10. For every foal at foot, or calf 0 3 This Schedule shall be read as if the words “ mare, gelding, ass, mule, bull, cow, or calf,” were inserted alter the word horse throughout. Provided that not more than one toll shall be taken on any vehicle or horse passing or returning on tho same day : And provided further that in case of a veliicle without springs having the tires of nil its wheels of a breadth of not less than five inches, the. wheels' being so formed that a surface of not less than five inches comes in contact with the ground on a firm cart road, the amount of tolls shall be onehalf the rate which would otherwise be charged under this Schedule. f.
