A meeting of householders was held in the school-room tlie same evening, to elect a new Committee. From fifteen to twenty were present, including several from Wliakamara. Mr R. U. Hamilton was voted to the chair. The following gentlemen were elected—Messrs W. Wallace, F. J. Gane, 11. S, PeaeoMc, R. W. Foreman, B. J. Morgan, J, G. Ginger, and R. Tidloch. Messrs Tniloch, Morgan, and Peacock were members of the prove,ns Committee. Through (he continuance of favourable weather, and the? good work done by the different reapers and hinders, crops are lining rapidly secured throughout (he district, and fanners appear to be satisfied with results so far. Railway Kiigiiiem’s have been at work for some time, survi-ying and pegging out the railway line, which passes through the township a little tto the rear of the Manufnhi Hotel, theiice. throiigh the school paddock, and down a gnl y on Mr McGregor’s property, towards the Ingahape stream.
