TO STAND THIS SEASON AT WAVERLEY. The Blood Horse, GLADIATOR, Imported to Victoria by the late J. Moffatt, Esq. GLADIATOR is a golden chestnnt, rising 7 years old, 15 hands 3 inches high, bred by Count Legrimge, by that celebrated horse, Glacliuteur, out of Nuncia, by Nuncio, out of Fatina, by Ellis. Gladiateur by Monarque, out of Miss Gladiator, by Gladiateur, out of TafFrail, by Sheet Anchor. For further particulars vide English Stud Book. Gladiateur was the winner of the Derby St. Lcger, 2000 guineas; and the Grand Prix, in 1865. Terms— Single Mares, £7 7s; three or more, £6 10s ; grooinage, ss. Paddocking provided for four weeks free of charge, and afterwards 2s per week will be charged. Every care taken, but no responsibility. One of the owners will be in Wanganui every alternate Thursday (on the day of F. R. Jackson’s sale), to receive and take up the country all marcs. ALBANS is 8 years old, by Mai ton (imported), out of Montrose, by Potentate; g d Dolly, by Sir Hercules; gg d Dora, the best in Sydney of her day on the turf. Malton’s pedigree is indisputable, and he is the sire of several first-class horses on the flat and over hurdles. St. Albans won the Maiden Steeplechase at Aramoho. in 1876; won the Hurdle Race at the Hutt last year, weight for age, beating Tommy Dodd and a large field; won the Ladies’ Purse at Foxton, welter weight for age, beating Parawenui, &c. His performances over fences in Wanganui have stamped him the best crosscountry horse in the Island. St Albans is a beautilul dark chestnut, stands 16 hands, and from his size and breeding is in every way suitable for getting roadsters, hunters, or superior hackneys. BOURBAKI is a Dark Bay, 3 years old, stands 15| hands high, with immense-bone and muscular substance, and is possessed of an admirable temper. Bourbaki is by Ravenswortb, out of Coquette, by Pacific out of Prancy, out of Bounce by Bugler. Bounce out of St. Hill’s blood mare by Figaro, out of Riddlesworth mare by Rubbius, out of Arab mare by Riddlesworth. Ravcnsworth being so well known, it is useless to particularise his pedigree. Bourbaki will also visit (by appointment) any farmer or settler’s residence being within a radius of ten miles from home. Terms—Single mares, £3 ; two or more, as per agreement. Guarantee, £5. CONQUEROR is a bright hay, rising 5 years old, stands 16 hands 3 inches high, of immense muscular power, and splendid action. Conqueror was bred by Mrs Miller, West Taieri, out of the celebrated mare Duchess, and is by Emperor out of the celebrated mare Kate (imported by the late Mr Jas. Strachan). Sire, Emperor, Emperor has gained three first and three second prizes. Emperor’s sire, Napoleon (imported by J. Nirnmo). Napoleon by George Buchanan’s Emperor out of Nancy (imported)—bred by Alexander Finlay, Esq., Sandyhills, near Glasgow. Nancy by the celebrated Garnary Horse, and her dam by Scotsman. Nancy was first shown as a 8-year old, and got first prize at Hamilton, first at Balliestan, second at Glasgow, and second at Kilbride. She was nest year shown as a brood mare at ■ Glasgow and Kilbride, where she received similar honors. Conqueror took the first prize as a 2year old at the Blueskin Show, 1876, and second prize for Ail-Comers "and Aged Horses at the same Show; and at Oamaru the following year took second prize as a 3-year old in a’ field of nine competitors.
