Patea Mail Office, Friday Evening. Mr W. dale reportshaving sold at his yards, Carlyle, on Thursday last—-45 head 2-year old steers, from £3 15s to £6 Is; 20 cows and heifers, at £5 17s Cd; 1 pen mixed stores, at £4 15s; 102 ewes, at Gs 9d; 87 lambs, at 4s 3d,

MR FREEMAN R. JACKSON’S FORTNIGHTLY STOCK REPORT. Wanganui, December 4. Tflß following are quotations of stock sold:— Cattle —At Waverley 200 head were offered. Cows made from £5 10s to £5 los; cows and calves, £6 15s to £7 2s 6d; milch cows, £4 17s 6d to £8 17s 6d; 18-raOnths old cattle, £4 7s 6d.—At the St. Hill Street yards today only 73 head were penned. Prices were: Eat bullocks, £9 to £9 10s; cows, £7 5s to £7 17s 6d; stores (18-months old heifers), £4 10s; a mixed lot, £4 7s 6d; milch cows, £6 12s 6d. Sheep—34B made up the sale. Fat wethers, 10s to 10s 3d—the trade only buying sufficient for immediate requirements. Store wethers were also turned out unsold. Bams—-3 he prices obtained on account of Mrs Hair were £5, £6 2s 6d, and £7. The ones offered at Waverley, on account of Mr Biddell, and bred by George Hunter, Esq., Wellington, made from £6 to £l4 os. Bulls—The bulls ex St. Kilda were placed at satisfactory prices. They were a capital lot, and sold readily. Horses—Best draught, £4O and £45 ; medium, £ls to £2O; good hacks, £ls to £25; medium, £lO to £l2; screws and weeds, various prices. Exports—6o cattle and 400 sheep. KAKARAMEA FLOUR MILLS. Flour in sacks and in bags. Pollard, 6s per 100 lbs ; bran, 4s per 90 lbs. EDWIN PAYNE. December 7,1878. 702
