GLADIATOR is a golden chestnnt, rising 7 years old, 15 hands 3 inches high, bred by Count Legrange, by that celebrated horse, Gladiatenr, out of Nuncis, by Nuncio, out of Fatina, by Ellis. Gladiatenr by Monarqne, out of Miss Gladiator, by Gladiatenr, out of Taffrail, by Sheet Anchor. For further particulars vide English Stud Book. Gladiatenr was the winner of the Derby St. Leger, 2000 guineas ; and the Grand Prix, in 1865. Terms—Single Mares, £7 7s; three or more, £6 10s; groomage, ss. ALBANS is 8 years old, by Malton (imported), out of Montrose, fry Potentate; g d Dolly, by Sir Hercules; ggd Dora, the best in Sydney of her day on the tnrf. Malton’s pedigree is indisputable, and he is the sire of several first-class horses on the flat and over hurdles. St. Albans won the Maiden Steeplechase at Aramoho in 1876; won the Hurdle Race at the Hutt last year, weight, for age, beating Tommy Dodd and a large field; won the Ladies’ 3?urse at Foxton, welter weight for age, beating Parawenui, &c. His performances over fences in Wanganui have stamped him the best crosscountry horse in the Island. St. Albans is a beautiful dark chestnut, stands 16 hands, and from his size and breeding is in every way suitable for getting roadsters, hunters, or superior hackneys. Bounce out of St. Hill’s blood mare by Figaro, out of Riddlesworth mare by Rubbius, out of Arab mare by Riddlesworth. Eavensworth being so well known, it is useless to particularise bis pedigree. CONQUEROR is a bright bay, rising 5 years old, stands 16 hands 3 inches high, of immense muscular power, and splendid action. Conqueror was bred by Mrs Miller, West Taieri, out of the celebrated mare Duchess, and is by Emperor out of the celebrated mare Kate (imported by the late Mr Jas. Strachan). Sire, Emperor. Emperor has gained three first and three second prizes. Emperor’s sire, Napoleon (imported by J. Nirnmo)i Napoleon by George Buchanan’s Emperor out of Nancy (imported)—bred by Alexander Finlay, Esq., Sandy hills, near Glasgow. Nancy by the celebrated Garnary Horse, and her dam by Scotsman. Nancy was first shown as a 3-year old, and got first prize at Hamilton, first at Balliestan, second at Glasgow, and second at Kilbride. Bho was next year shown as a brood mare at Glasgow and Kilbride, where she received similar honors. Conqueror took the first prize as a 2year old at the Blueskin Show, 1875, and second prize for All-Comers and Aged Horses at the same Show; and at Oamaru the following year took second prize as a 3-year old in a field of nine competitors.
