St. Albans won the Maiden Steeplechase at Aramoho in 1876; won the Hurdle Race at the Hutt last year, weight for age, beating Tommy Dodd and a large field; won the Ladies’ Purse at Foxton, welterweight for age, beating Parawenui, &c. His performances over fences in Wanganui have stamped him the best crosscountry bovse in the Island. St. Albans is a beautiful dark chestnut, stands 16 hands, and from his size and breeding is in every way suitable forgetting roadsters, hunters, or superior hackneys. Bounce out of St. Hill’s blood mare by Figaro, out of Riddlesworth mare by Eubbius, out of Arab mare by Riddlesworth. Ravonsworth being so well known, it is useless to particularise his pedigree. CONQUEROR is a bright bay, rising 5 years old, stands 16 hands 3 inches high, of immense muscular power, and splendid action. Conqueror was bred by Mrs Miller, West Taieri, out of the celebrated mare Duchess, and is by r Emperor out of the celebrated mare Kate (imported hy the late Mr Jas. Strachan). Sire, Emperor. Emperor lias gained tliree first and three second, prizes. Emperor’s sire, Napoleon (imported by J. Nirnino). Napoleon by George Buchanan’s Emperor out of Nancy (imported)—bred by Alexander Finlay, Esq., Sandy hills, near Glasgow. Nancy by the celebrated Garnary Horse, and beldam by Scotsman. Nancy was first shown as a 3-year old, and got first prize at Hamilton, first at Balliestan, second at . Glasgow, and second at Kilbride. She was nest year shown as a brood mare at Glasgow .and Kilbride, where she received similar honors. Conqueror took the first prize as a 2year old at the Blueskin Show, 1875, and second prize for All-Comers and Aged Horses at the same Show; and at Oamaru the following rear took second prize as a 3-year old in a' field of nine competitors.
