About 3,000 persons are reports I to have boon present at the Spring Meeting of the Wanganui .jockey Club, hold on Saturday last. The following is a list of the events: Maiden Plato of £so.—Powd roll's Miss Emma, 7st 4ib ( Danalmy), Ist ; Day’s Chanlieloci, 7st 41b (Kalliek), 2nd; Owen and Lethbridge’s Tricotrin (Billy), 3rd. L'chinvar, Tanmuri, Sat.anclla, Chandler, Port Wine Hob Taxation, and Ace of Diamonds also ran.
Hair Heap Hurdle Race of £so.—Campbell’s Budy-for-yon, lOst 7!b (Potto), Ist; Gibson’s Littlo-thought-oP, Gst (Heaton), 2nd; Harrison's Cossack, TJ.st (Sargeam), 3rd. Sloper and Junius also ran. Awa Uou and Grey Mourns were scratched. Hack Hurdle Race of £lo.—Higgie’s King Don, 9st s!b, Ist; Chamberlain's Juanita, 9st 9!b, 2nd; T, Watt’s Titokowarn, 9uk 2!b, 3rd, Violet, Te Tewaka, Leotard, and Harpoon also started. Wanganui Stakes of £l5O. —D. Scott’s Haphazard, 7st 4lb (Kel'ick), Ist j Powdrell’s Queen of the Vale, 7st 10!b (Danahay), 2nd; Brewer’s Folly, Bst s!b (Atkins), 3rd. Expectation, Redeemej, Tamonri, Otawa, Isaac Walton, and Sunshine also ran. Lochinvar was scratched.
Railway Plato of £75. —Day’s Isaac Walton, 9st 121b (CanLle), Ist; Scott’s Haphazard, 9st 91 b (’Belcher), 2nd; Quinlivan’s Redeemer, 7st7lb (Quinlivan), 3rd. Lochinvar, Parawhenua, Expectation, Otawa, Bully-for-yon, Tuna, and Miss Emma also .ran. Queen of the Vale was scratched. ... Consolation Stakes of £2O. —Qninlivan’s Redeemer, Ist; Powdreil’s Queen of the Vale, 2nd; Melver’s Grey Mourns, 3rd. For'this event live horses contested, with the above result.
