G| LADIATOR is a golden chestnut, T rising 7 years old, 15 hands 3 inches high, bred by Count Lcgrange, by that celebrated horse, Gladiateur, out of Nuncia, by Nuncio, out of Fatiun, by Ellis. Gladiateur by Monarqne, out of Miss Gladiator, by Gladiateur, out of Taffrail, by Sheet Anchor. For further particulars vide English Stud Book. Gladiateur was the winner of the Derby St. Leger, 2000 guineas; and the Grand Prix, in 1865. Terms —Single Mares, £7 7s; three or more, .-6 10s; groomage, ss. Paddocking provided for four weeks free of charge, and afterwards 2s per week will be charged. Every care taken, but no responsibility. One of the owners will be in Wanganui every alternate Thursday (on the day of F. R. Jackson’s sale), to receive and lake up the country all mares. ALBANS is 8 years old, by Malton (imported), out of Montrose, by Potentate; g d Dolly, by Sir Hercules; ggd Dora, the best in Sydney of her day on the turf. Malton’s pedigree is indisputable, and he is the sire of several first-class horses on the Hat and over hurdles. St. Albans won the Maiden Steeplechase at Aramoho in 1878; won the Hurdle Race at the Hull last year, weight for age, beating Tommy Dodd and a large field; won the Ladies’ Purse at Foxton, welter weight for age, beating Parawcnni, &c. His performances over fences in Wanganui have stamped him the best crosscountry horse in the Island. St. Albans is a beautiful dark chestnut. stands 16 hands, and from his size and breeding is in every way suitable for getting roadsters, hunters, or superior hackneys. Bonvbaki is by Ravenswovth, out of Coquette, by Pacific out of Prancy, out of Bounce by Bugler. Bounce out of St. Hill’s blood mare by Figaro, out of Biddlesworth mare by Robbins, out of Arab mare by Riddlesworth. Ravonsworth being so well known, it is useless to particularise his pedigree. CONQUEROR is a bright bay, rising 5 years old, stands 16 hands 3 inches high, of immense muscular power, and splendid action. Conqueror was bred by Mrs Miller, West Taieri, out of the celebrated mare Duchess, and is by Emperor out of tire celebrated marc Kate (imported by the late Mr Jas. Strachan). Sire, Emperor. Emperor has gained three first and three second prizes. Emperor’s sire, Napoleon (imported by J. Nirnmo). Napoleon by George Buchanan’s Emperor out of Nancy (imported)—bred by Alexander Einlay, Esq., Samlyhills, near Glasgow. Nancy by the celebrated Garnary Horse, and her dam by Scotsman. Nancy was first shown as a 3-year old, and got first prize at Hamilton, first at Balliestan, second at Glasgow, and second at Kilbride. She was nest year shown as a brood mare at Glasgow and. Kilbride, where she received similar honors. Conqueror took the first prize as a 2year old at the Blueskin Show, 1875, and second prize for All-Comers and Aged Horses at the same Show; and at Oamaru the following year took second prize as a 3-year old in a field of nine competitors.
