' To Travel this Season, Between Hawera and Carlyle, j The Favorite Draught Entire Horse, VICTORY. YTCTORY is a Bright Bay, 7 years old, and stands 16 hands 3 inches high. Has splendid bone, and a;, fine temper. He was bred by Mr Walls, of Canterbury, and took two first prizes as a two-year old at Blenheim. Victory is by Royal Conqueror, out of Mr Walls’ prize mare Blossom. Royal Conqueror took first prize at the United All-England and Highland Societies Agricultural Show at Battersea, when a two-year old, and was purchased by H. Redwood, Esq., for £7OO, and imported to Now Zealand. Blossom (Victory’s dam) took several first prizes as best brood mare in Canterbury. Victory has proved himself a sure foal-getter, and his stock are so well known throughout the district, that any long comment would be superfluous; it need only be added that they will compare favorably with any horses on the coast, and as workers cannot be beaten. A three-year old filly, got by Victory, and exhibited by T. Mason, Esq., at the last Wellington Show, took first prize. Victory will be at Kakavamea on Mondays, Hawera on Wednesdays, and Novraanby on Thursdays ; returning to Mamitahi on Fridays. Terms —Single mares, £3 10s ; two or more, £3; grooraage, 2s 6d. Good grass paddock provided for six weeks free of charge, after that time Is 6d per week will be charged. Every care taken, hut no responsibility. Guarantee with approved mares. YOUNG SCOTCHMAN is a X beautiful dark bay,, on short legs, rising 3 years old, with plenty of bone and hair; stands hands high, and is by Scotchman (imported). Scotchman took tiro first prizes at Rhinds of Galloway Society Show, held at Stranraer; and also took first prize at Kyneton, Victoria, every year as the purest Clydesdale stallion exhibited. Young Scotchman is out Jess by Lothian Tam (imported); grand dam Gipsy (imported), by Old Champion of Scotland. Young Scotchman took first prize at Kyneton, Victoria, as a 1-year old, a silver cup valued at £2O ; also took first prize of £3O as a 2-year old at the same place. Terms—Single mares, £5 ; a reduction of 10s each will be made on three or more mares; guarantee, £7; groom’s fee, 2s 6d—to be paid on first service. Young Scotchman will stand at the Farm, Kakaramea, where good grass paddocks are provided free. Every care taken, but no responsibility. All mares to be paid for on or before Ist January, 1879. HAILSTORM is by Pacific, by Flatcatchcr (winner of the 2,000 quineas stakes, and ran third for the Epsom Derby.) Hailstorm is a rich roan, 3 years old, stands 15 hands 2 inches, is out of Discretion by Towton, is full brother to Resolution and Queen of the Vale, and for symmetry and power cannot be surpassed. For full particulars of pedigree see Stud Book. Terms—£s each mare. Good paddocks for marcs free for one month, after which 2s a week will be charged. Every care will be taken, but no responsibility incurred. The season will end the first week in December, when all fees must be paid and mares removed.
