PATEA COUNTY COUNCIL.

The following rather important Notices' of Motion by Mr Geo. S. Bridge, will be brought on for consideration at to-day’s sitting of the County Council: Ist. That the Patea Hospital be closed as soon as possible. 2nd. That arrangements bo made with the Committee of Management for the Wanganui Hospital, to admit patients' from the Patea County. 3rd. That in the opinion of this' Council, it is desirable that the Special' Order proclaiming the main line of road from Waitotara to Taungatara, should, be revoked —the system of two Local Bodies having charge of roads in the same district, being expensive and liable’ to cause collision. , 4th. That, the Chairman communicate with the various Local Bodies within the’ County, requesting their consent to the’ revocation mentioned in the preceding, motion, informing them that the will be willing to hand over the amount' of rates collected in the various districts' to the several Boards, together with such* other portions of the County Funds as’ may be determined from time to time. sth. That the next Ordinary Meeting, of the Council be held on November 27 th,' at the close of the annual meeting, instead ol December 4th. Gth. That the amount of security to’ be given by the Collector and Treasurer,’ bo reduced to £250.'
