KARA RAM EA FLOUR MILLS. Flour in sacks and in bags. Bollard, 6s per 100 lbs ; bran, 4s per 90 lbs. EDWIN PAYNE. October 26, 1878. 702 MR FREEMAN R. JACKSON’S FORTNIGHTLY STOCK REPORT. Wanganui, October 23. The yards to-day were filled with cattle, sheep, and horses, and the bidding was brisk throughout ; but prices for cattle were not equal to those of last sale —being about 5s per head lower. Beef was of good quality, and heavy weights. Quotations would be about 27s (Jd the lOOlbs. Sheep were in full supply, and were all sold under the hammer. Shorn ones were fair mutton, but not thorough fat. Wethers in wool, some pens were really good, but the larger ones went to the grazier. A large number of horses came forward—-a number of them being of a really good stamp—and realised capital prices. At Waverley, on Friday, 120 head were penned. The attendance was fair, but bidding dull, and the * prices obtained were quite equal to those of previous sales. Cattle.—At Waverley 120 head were sold. Bullocks (two-year-old), £5 10s to £5 1 2s Gel; yearlings, '£4. " At the St. Hill Street Yards, 25S head were sold, prices being—Fat bullocks £ll to £l2 5s ; cows. £S 12s (Id ; yearlings, £3 to £8 17s5d; cows (inferior quality), £4 12s (Jd to £5 ; steers (three-year-old). £7 to £7 10s; mixed cattle, £4 12s (Id to £5, Sheep. —Blß were penned. Wethers, in wool, 14s 6d to 15s; shorn do, 9s to 9s 3d. HORSES. —About 40 bead were offered, a large proportion finding purchasers at the following quotations ; good hacks from £lO to £l9 : trap horses, £ls to £22 10s. Land. —Mr Dymock’s farm was offered, but was withdrawn, the price £9 10s not being considered sufficient by the vendor. Export.—Bo head cattle, and 250 sheep.
