GLADIATOR is a golden chestnut, rising 7 years old, 15 hands 3 inches high, bred by Count Legrange, by that celebrated horse, Gladiateur, out of Nuncia, by Nuncio, out of Fatina, by Ellis. Gladiateur by Monurque, out of Miss Gladiator, by Gladiateur, out of Taft rail, by Sheet Anchor.' For further particulars vide English Stud Book. Gladiateur was the winner of the Derby St, Leger, 2000 guineas; and the Grand Prix, in 1865. Tep.ms —Single Mares, £7 7s; three or more, £6 10s; groomage, ss. One of the owners will be in Wanganui every alternate Thursday (on the day of F. E. Jackson’s sale), to receive and take up the country all mares. HAILSTORM is . by Pacific, by Flatcatcher (winner of the 2,000 quineas stakes, and ran third for the Epsom Derby.) Hailstorm is a rich i roan, 3 years old, stands 15 hands 2 inches, is out of Discretion by Towton, is full brother to Resolution and Queen of the Yale, and for symmetry and power cannot bo surpassed. For full particulars of pedigree see Stud Book, Terms —£5 each mare. Good paddocks for mares free for one month, after which 2s a week will be charged. Every care will be taken, but no responsibility incurred. The season will end the first week in December, when all fees must be paid and mares removed. TO TRAVEL THIS DISTRICT, The Imported Clydesdale Stallion, YOUNG SCOTCHMAN. ttOIHIG SCOTCHMAN is a JL beautiful dark bay on short legs, rising 3 years old, with plenty of bone and hair; stands 16£ hands high, and is by Scotchman (imported). Scotchman took two first prizes at Xlhmds of Galloway Society Show, held at Stranraer; and also took first prize at Kyneton, Victoria, every year as the purest Clydesdale stallion exhibited. Young Scotchman is out Jess by Lothian Tam (imported) ; dam Gipsy (imported), by Old Champion of Scotland. Young Scotchman took first prize at Kyneton, Victoria, as a 1-year old, a silver cup valued at £2O ; also took first prize of £3O as a 2-year old at the same place. Young Scotchman will be at Waverley on Tuesdays ; at our Farm, Kakaramea, on Thursdays; and at Hawera on Saturdays. Terms—.Single mares, £5 ; a reduction of 10s each will be made on three or more mares ; guarantee, £7 ; groom s fee, 2s 6d—to be paid on first service. Good grass paddocks; provided free.
