PATEA HARBOR BILL.

Thk two following telegrams, sent within a couple of hours of each other, were received from Mr Sherwood, now in Wellington, yesterday: “ The second rending of the Harbor Bill in tho Upper House is just coming on. There is great difficulty in the way, but I think it will go through.” “ October 1, 5 p.m.—The Bill lias just passed its second reading in the Upper House, and has been referred to a Select Committee for to-morrow. —(Jr. E. Sherwood.”

Noth. —The Bill having been referred to a Select Committee, will, we believe, afford an opportunity for the re-insertion of the endowment clauses.
