September 24. „ The British Government leaves it to a member of the Council of India and the Secretary of State to institute and carry out a line of policy towards lire Ameer of Afghanistan. Prevalent opinion favors the English occupation of the Kyber Pass and Kandahar. ST. PETERSBURG!!. September 25. It it officially denied here that Russia is acting in complicity with Ameer of Afghanistan.
