The yards to-day were filled with (tie host lot of store cattle offered (his season, the bullocks being of a superior de mription. The prices, on the whole, were not so good as those of previous sales—best .store bullocks being from 5s to U).s a head cheaper. Two pens of old eattJc went at full value, being keenly competed for. Beef was of medium quality, but sold well. This description of stock is hardly obtainable. For cattle of prime quality sales are at extreme rates. Some of the sheep entered for to-day’s sale were good quality mutton —the best pens making capital prices. A number of pens were only good stores; the e were passed m at (lie auction, but were all sold afterwards at store prices. Hie prices at the ’Waverley sale were about equal lo those of to-day. Good horses meet a ready sale at fair figures, but weeds and screws arc neglected. Cattle—At Waverley 112 head came forward. Prices were—Bullocks, 3-year old, £7 ss; do, 2-year old, £5; cows, £5 10s. At St. Hill Street yards 253 head were penned. Fat cows, £8 to A!) 15s; 3-rear old store bullocks, £7 ; 4-year old do. £7 15s; 2-ycar ulil do, 15 7s Gd*; cows, Xii 30s; 18-monlhs old, £4 2s Gd to hj i 15s ; milch cows. £7 U)s lo £'.). I placed GO head 3-year old bullocks privately tit £7 10s. Sheep—4sß made up the sale—best wethers, 17s lo 18s ; store wethers, 13s (id.
