AGRICULTURAL SHOW.
(To the Editor of the Pate a. Mail.) Sir,—l see the Agricultural Society members arc intending to erect a largo building in the paddock at Kakaramca. What is the meaning of it ? Were not the members and public last year led to believe it was to be a movable show (it was to bo tried) hold it at Waverley, and if it was a success, to hold it at Hawera this year, then at Kfikarainea next year. I bear the committee had meetings, and appointed a sub-committee to arrange about the building, and other things. But, who are the committee, who have been attending these meetings, when are the subscriptions due? It is to be hoped the committee will not forget to offer a prize for shearing ; and I have been asked by some men, why they never encourage men to ditch and bank. Surely they could get a bit of land to up a little, and it could he pulled dertvn again afterwards. Although it would not be the fencing season, it would be equally fair for one and all. Also prizes for sheepdogs, baskets, bricks, boots, candles, casks, drain-pipes, pickles, and soap, all made in the district of the Association. If the Society cannot afford to give large prizes and plate, perhaps some of our leading citizens will offer special prizes.—l am l , &c., SUCCESS.
