(Per Press Agency.) NEW PLYMOUTH. August 27. A passenger hy the steamer Tui writes to the Taranaki Herald, and states that on tiie 13th August, they put into Guards Bay during a gale, and found the schooner A tala nt a there, four weeks out from Patea for Mannkau. She had run out of food, the captain saying the crew and himself had to subsist on fislpand mussels for nearly a fortnight. The Atalanta was not damaged in any way. He (writer) believed she was still sheltering in one of the inlets of Cook’s Straits. A piece of a ship’s rail has been picked up on lire ITenni bead), about 5 feet long by 3-r indies thick, supposed to.have belonged to a vessel of 150 to 200 tons. It had only been in the water a short time, as some green paint on it was quite fresh. AUCKLAND. August 27.
