Both were well attended, and good prices ruled, especially at Hawera on Friday last; the competition being very brisk indeed. Store cattle are now keenly enquired for. and capital sales can bo effected. At the Yards to-day the beef was of fine quality. One pen of prime eosvs made £8 12s (id ; dairy cows were well competed for, prices being in favour of the seller. Sheep were in full supply, selling at quotations ; tlie pens passed in at the auction were sold afterwards. Horses were in larger numbers and met a dull market, the quality being chiefly inferior animals. Good horses are selling at full values. Cattle —At Hawera. IDO were yarded. Cows made £0 2s (id to £G 15s; inferior cows, £4 ; yearlings, £3 10s to £3 15s. At the Yards to-day, 97 head came forward. Fat bullocks, £7 17s (id to £9 ss; cows, £8 12s 5d ; heifers, £ti; steers. £5 12s Gd; cows in low condition, £l, 15s; milch cows. £lO 10s, £9 ss. and down to £G 2s Gd: yearlings, £3 2s Gd; heifers, £5. Sheep —939 were penned. Best wethers, 10s and 15s Gd; store wethers, lls 9d; ewes and wethers, its.

Horses—Draught,£2B, £2O, and £3(5; hacks tip to £l3; screws and weeds, £2 to £5. Exports—100 head cattle, GOO sheep.
