A contemporary furnishes the following receipt for getting rid of horse flies : —Get a four-horse power engine erected in the back of the mansion, run shafting in every room, connected to the engine aforesaid by belting, smear the wheels with treacle, and set the engine going. The flies beingattracted by the treacle on the fly wheels, will light on them, and the wheel revolving rapidly, the flies will be got rid of. This' is a most etficacious remedy, and the produce will find a ready sale as blackcurrant jam.
