The sales have been limited to the usual St. Hill Street and Hawera sales. At the latter place a fair number of cattle came forward, and met good market. The St. Hill Street sale was limited to the fat stock only, and of that there was not sufficient for requirements. 1 shall hold a large sale of sffirc cattle at Wavcrlcy on Friday next, which will test the market. Beef is scarce, and good fat quality mutton commands extreme rates. Cattle —At Ilawera, 133 head were sold. Large bullocks, £8 10.v, 3 year old steers, £7 10s; 2 and 3 year olds, -M 15s; fat cattle. £7 10s; superior breeding cows, £3 17s (id: sten-.s and heifers, £4; cows and calves, £7. At St. Hill Street: Fat cows, £7,2s (id to £7 17s del; bullocks, £8 10s to £9T7s6d; 18 months old heifers and steers, £3 12s 9d. Sheep—At St. Hill Street ; Wethers, medium quality, 11s 3d to 12s 3d. Horses—This description of stock was dull of sale. Best draughts made £3O to £32 Is; hacks, £lO. Exports—l3B head cattle: 1,102 sheep.
