Hurley reports (wholesale) as follows ; Oats—Hie demand for feed oats has been good during the past week, and prices for ordinary samples have been slightly lower, blocks generally are very short, and cannot be replaced at figures now quoted. Wheat evinces little or no change. For fowl feed it is sold retail at 4s Gel to 4s Ud. Maize is just coming forward in small stocks, which command good prices —ss Sid to r>s Ed retail being-asked. Barley—No demand, except small enquiry for fowl feed. Peas and beans scarce, not more than 20 sacks in market. Flour continues at about same quotations as mentioned last week. Fair demand. Oatmeal, bran, and pollard unchanged. Chaff quoted variously at £5 to £7 per con. The market lias been unusually bare, owing n.i doubt to the amount of wet weather of laic. May is in good demand at £4 10,s to £5 10s, and at higher rates for small quantities. Onions I quote at £9 10s to £!0. I'alatocs nominal, £3 10s. Farmers hold large orders, and would sell at very low rates for good orders. Rye grass—Best Canterbury, 9s ; local, 8s ; English, 9s tid. Ha'.vcra. Jntuv 10. McLean & Eroadbent report ; —We have bought Mr Oowcrn’s yards at Xormanby, and sold oil Wcdnc-uay last, at the above yards, r,d cows at £5 ss, and yearlings at £3 3s.
