WANGANUI EDUCATION BOARD.
At the last meeting of the above Board, held on Wednesday last, the following notices of motion were given : Mr Bryce gave notice that he would move at the next meeting—That a sum of 10s for each scholar in actual attendance he placed at the disposal of the School Committees to meet the expenses of repairs, &c., as detailed in the Inspector’s report. Air Bryce gave notice that he would move at the next meeting of the Board— That there be placed annually at the disposal of the various local committees, as a contribution from the funds of the Board to the school fund, a sum equal to 10s per scholar in average daily attendance at their respective schools. Air Williams to move at next meeting— That the Board vote a sum sufficient to cover the cost of the following - urgently required necessaries for the Carlyle school: Ist, a well with pump; estimate cost, £11; 2nd, a dividing fence between boys and girls play-grounds ; estimate cost, £ls; 3rd, new black board; estimated cost, £2 ; 4th, a shed for saddles, and shelter in wet weather; estimated cost, £2O; total, £4B. Mr Bryce to move at next meeting— That it be an instruction to tire Inspector to so arrange the teacher’s salaries throughout the district for the consideration and approval of the Board ; that they shall not exceed in the aggregate, and with the estimated expense of the official working' of the Board added, the total amount accruing from the capitation fee of £3 15s per school.
