GOVERNMENT LAND SALE.

Tiik Kale of Government Land, Whakainara Block, todk place at tin; Court House, Carlyle, on Monday last, 0. A. Wray. Esc;., District Land Officer, acting ais auctioneer. The Court House was crowded. Wellington, Wanganui, New Plymouth, and many other places being represented.. As explained in last issue, the contested deferred payment sections advertised to be- offered for saie by auction before the cash land, did. not take place. There was some solid growling, and a considerable amount of

fun on that account. The sale, however, went off well, as will he seen by tho undermentioned list. Twenty-three sections were offered, and all sold, in a number of cases, at over double the upset prices. The total amount realized was a little over £11,300. Purchasers’ names, with area, upset and actual prices realized, are as follows ;
