May 1, 1878. 270 McLean and Broadbcnt report prices as follows at their Hawera sales on Friday last: Cattle—We had 180 head yarded, which we sold except one lot of 25 head. Prices were rather low on account of past dry weather. Fat bullocks sold at -.67 10s to £7 12s (id ; cows and calves, £G 10s; two-year old heifers, £4 17s Gd; dairy cows, £6. Sheep —SSO were yarded. One lot of 150 were unsold. Lambs fetched Gs; fat wethers, 8s Gd. Horses were dull of sale; one heavy draught sold for £35, of hacks from £7 to £l2.
