TOWN OF STRATFORD. ror about the month of APRIL, 1878, Allotments in the Town of Stratford, situate on the Mountain Road, at its intersection by the Patea River, and distant 29 miles from New Plymouth, 14 miles from Inglewood, and 17 miles from Hawera, will bo offered for sale. The Town is situate on the line of the Waitara-Wanganui Railway, which is now open between New Plymouth and Inglewood ; the earth works are completed, and the bridges in course of construction,' between Inglewood and the Mangamawhctc River — i.e., to within 9 miles of Stratford —and the bush lias been felled along tiie railway line, preparatory to carrying on the construction from Mangamawbetcto Stratford, and a sum has been voted by the General Assembly for completing the railway to this point. The importance of the site selected for the Town will be best indicated by stating that at, or near, tins point will be the junction of the Wellington, Auckland, and New Plymouth Railways. The site of the Town has been felled, and the sale is delayed till April in order that the bush may be burnt, and intending purchasers enabled both to inspect allotments before bidding, and also to commence building immediately after the sale, should they desire to do so, which would be im.possibie if the land was sold with the bush still standing on it. By-order of the Board, C. D. WHITCOMBE, Chief Commissioner. Waste Lands Board Office, Taranaki, December 5, 1877. 760-s-tc
