RESIDENT MAGISTRATES’ COURT—CARLYLE.
(Before C. A. Wray, Esq., R.M.) Wednesday, April 24. Clifford v Ball. Claim, £2 11s. _ Judgment for plaintiff for 15s, costs divined. «. ' Thursday, April 25. Sergeant Whelan' summoned Nicholas Brown, George Ewing, and Maria Ewing for fighting. This was a case of a general fall out. Some of Ewing's children were annoying Brown by getting in and out of his trap. He tried to frighten the youngsters away, when Mrs Ewing came forward and expressed her sentiments and resented the affront on her children. Mr Ewing followed up by blacking Brown’s eye,- and otherwise phmnelling him. Sergeant Whelan charged the trio with fighting. Case against Brown dismissed. George and Maria Ewing were each,fined 10s and costs 16s fid. Constable Burrows had case of drunkenness from Waverley. Usual fine inflicted. Friday, April 2G. D. M. Hogg v W. Butcher. Judgment summons for £2o 14s. Defendant ordered to pay in instalments £G by end of May,
and £2 10s per month until debt satisfied; or in default six week’s imprisonment in Wanganui gaol. Costs; £1 4s 9d. ■ Other case down for hearing was adjourned.
