Harry George v Thos. Quinlivan, far stealing a grey filly belonging to prosecutor. The defendant did not appear. A telegram had been received from Mr Hutchison, his solicitor, in Wanganui, asking for an adjournment of the case, through his engagements preventing him from being able to appear on behalf of the defendant.— Mr Hamerton, on behalf of the prosecutor, contended that a warrant should be immediately issued for the defendant’s apprehension, as in a serious charge of this kind, the adjournment might ho only an excuse to allow him time to leave the country. — The Magistrate at once granted a warrant for his apprehension. ,

Same v Thos. Qitinlivan, for fraudulently branding a certain filly belonging to plaintiff. — Mr Hanierlon appeared for the plaintiff, and as the defendant did not appear, asked for an adjournment of the case until the 30th, which was gran ted. Same v Richard E. Mcßae. Adjourned until the 30th.

James Davidson v J.Mcßeady; judgment summons. The defendant did not appear. Judgment for plaintiff for full amount, in three instalments in two months, or in default one month’s imprisonment. J. S. Gildroy v 11. Waller ; claim, £ll 7s lid for shingles delivered to defendant. Judgment for plaintiff by default, for amount, and costs 19s Felix McGuire v Joseph Alders Smith ; claim, £5 10s. Judgment for plaintiff by default, for amount, and costs. Several trifling cases were adjourned until next Court day.
