CONSTANTINOPLE. April 9. It is stated that Russia has abandoned her intention of embarking at Bojukdere. The Russian military authorities declare that the Imperial Guards must remain in the neighbourhood of Stamboul so long as the British fleeet is in the Sea of Marmora. It is generally thought the Powers may yet negotiate amicably. LONDON. April 12. , Gortschakoff’s reply is considered unagressive, though England’s objection to treaty remains unanswered. Hopes of pacific settlement continue. An extensive fire has occurred on the premises of Nelson and Sons, well known publishers at Edinburgh. (Special to the Post.) LONDON. April 9. The Russians have seized and occupied the British Consulate offices at Rustchuk. England has claimed prompt redress for outrage. The war excitement is increasing.
