The frequent interruptions on tho South Australian land lino direct attention to the necessity of a duplicate to the present land line. The Australian Eleven play- d their final matches in the colonies with great success. They leave for England via Frisco by the mail steamer. Tho French cx-Atiorney-G’enerr.l becomes a salaried Land Tax Commissioner. Francis again contests West Melbourne with O’Loughlen. A hard contest is anticipated. The Old Colonist Association wish to give up their homes, as the expenses aro more than equal to the ivvemu-:' The departure or the Chimborazo is indefinitely postponed. It is believed that the repairs will occupy at least 3 months. The barque Colonist has started from Sydney for New Guinea with a number of adventurers.
