IT is hereby notified that the undermentioned Allotments of LAND will be offered for sale at Auction, for CASH, at noon on Saturday, the 13th of April proximo, at the Court .House, Carlyle, by the District Land Officer, at the upset price per acre stated opposite the respective numbers. TN or about the month of APRIL, 1878, JL Allotment in the Town of Stratford, situate on the Mountain Road, at its intersection by the Patea River, ; and distant 29 miles from New Plymouth, 34 miles from Inglewood, and 17 miles from Hawera, I will be -offered for sale. The Town is situate on the line 6f the Waitara-Wanganui Railway-, which is now open between New Plymouth and Inglewood ; the earth works are completed, and the bridges in course of construction, between Inglewood and ; the Mangamawhete River —be., to within 9 miles of Stratford —and the bush has been felled along the railway line, preparatory to "carrying on the construction from Martgamawhete to Stratford, and hj sum has been voted by the General Assembly for completing the railway to this point. ; The importance of the site selected for the Town will be best indicated by stating that at, or near, this point will be the junction 6f the Wellington,’ Auckland, and New Plymouth Railways. The site of the Town has been felled; and the sale is delayed till April in order that the bush may be burnt, and intending purchasers enabled'both to inspect allotments before bidding, and also to commence building’, immediately after the sale, should they desire to do so, which would be impossible if the land was sold With the bush still standing on it.
