TOWN OF STRATFORD. IN or about the month of APRIL, 1878, Allotments in the Town of Stratford, situate on the Mountain Road, at its intersection by the Patea River, and distant 29 miles from New Plymouth, 14 miles from Inglewood, and 17 miles from Hawera, will be offered for sale. | The ff'own is situate on the lino of the ■ Waitara-Wanganui Railway, which is now open between New Plymouth and Ingle- I wood ; the earth works are completed, and the bridges in course of construction, between Inglewood and the Mangamawhete River—he., to within 9 miles of Stratford —and the bush has been felled along the railway line, preparatory to carrying on the construction from Mangamawhete to Stratford, and a sum lias been voted by the General Assembly for completing the railway to this point. The importance of the site selected for the Town will be best indicated by stating that at, or near, this point will be the junction of the Wellington, Auckland, and Now Plymouth Railways. The site of the Town has been felled, and the sale is delayed till April in order that the bush may be burnt, ami intending purchasers enabled both to inspect allotments before bidding, and also to commence building immediately after the sale, should they desire to do so, which would be impossible if the land was sold with the bush still standing on it. Plans'and specifications ean be seen at the offices of Air Alfred Bnckland, ■Auckland; Mr R. J. Duncan, Wellington ; and at the office of the Board, Carlyle, Patea. Tenders must be accompanied with cash, or cheque marked by the Banker, good for one mouth, for 5 percent, upon the amount of the tender.
