JACKSON jj has received instructions from Messrs Mcßae & Nicholson (who arc dissolving partnership), to sell by auction, at the St. Hill Street Sale Yards, on the above date, the following splendid lot of horses : Bead Shot. Head Shot is a Chestnut Horse, 7 .years old, and is perfectly sound ■; was bred by H. Redwood, Esq.; is got by Ravenswortb, dam Certainty, by J. C. Barbiers’ (imp) dam Chance, by Sir Hercules* dam Finesse. Finesse is grand dam of Trump Card. Ravens worth by Touchstone, &c. Head Shot has proved himself a sure foal getter, is now 7 in his prime, and has three-year-old stock, viz—Mata (winner of the Canterbury Jockey Club Handicap), Chokeboro, Pinfire, Orange Lightning, and others, are just beginning to make a name for themselves He has been exhibited at seven Agricultural Shows, and has taken seven first prizes in his class for colonial thoroughbreds. Monarch Is a Brown Horse, 7 years old, standing 10 hards high, is got by Ravenswortb, dam Plover by Sir Hercules, dam one of Iceley’s thoroughbred mares, imported by H. Redwood, Esq. Monarch ran well in his time as a three-year-old, has since proved himself a sure foal getter, and has left splendid stock both in Nelson and Patca district. He is out of same marc as Malvina and Patch, and own brother to Hercules —all good performers on the turf. President Is G years old, bred by Kenneth McKenzie, Esq., Heidleburgh, Victoria, is got by Lord Clyde (imp), out of Blossom, by Prince Charlie (imp), out of Kate (imp), by Lothiam Tam (imp). President was imported by John Shield, Esq., from Melbourne; is a beautiful rich roan colour, has proved himself a sure foal getter, and has left stock in the Patca District second to none in Wanganui. ALSO, •Steeplechase and Hurdle Horse GAZELLE, with all engagements. Gazelle won the last Rangitikei Hurdles, beating To Whotumarama, Victor, and five Others. Medora Bay Mare, bred in Canterbury, got by Brush ; pedigree of dam unknown. Mcdora has won more hurdle races and Steeplechases than any other mare in New Zealand. She is now stinted to Head Shot, and 'will make a grand brood mare. Blossom, Bay Mare'(draught), 4 years old, -by Loch Ryan, dam by Clyde, grand dam by England’s Hope. Blossom took first prize for Draught Marcs (all ages) at Waverley last Show, and is now in foal to President. Quicksilver, Entire, 4 years old, by old Quicksilver, out of Sattclite, dam bred by J, Hamilton, of Wanganui. Broken to harness, I.ord Nelson, Entire Pony, by Tom Thumb. Very quiet, and sure foal getter. And, About -‘thirty (30) other Useful Hacks and Harness Horses—mostly young—including pair strong Buggy Cobs. And, by instructions from Mr A. Elliott, the Thoroughbred Horse BRIGHAM YOUNG. Brigham Young is 5 years old, by Traducer.; dam Missie, by Nntwith. Winner in 1876 of the Wanganui Grand National Steeplechase of 150 sovs, boating a field of thirteen first-class horses ; and at the Taranaki Races, in the Handicap Hurdles of 50 sovs, ran second to Butcher Boy, over four feet jumps, two miles ; and at the same meeting, ram third to Glenavy in the Maiden Plate. Also, 13 LA C K PRIN CE. Black Prince is a Heavy Draught Horse, 6 years old, by Tasman, dam Nelly-; bred by Mr Paterson, of Wanganui. And, From instructions from J. E. Stent, Esq.
